<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and inexpensive frequency modulator which can simultaneously convert a frequency with low noise. <P>SOLUTION: The frequency modulator includes: an in-phase distributor which distributes an input signal of a predetermined frequency into a first distribution signal and a second distribution signal both having the same phase and the same amplitude; a first modulation signal generating unit which generates a first modulation signal having a frequency that is different from the predetermined frequency; a second modulation signal generating unit which generates a second modulation signal having a same frequency as that of the first modulation signal and having a phase difference of 90 degrees to the first modulation signal; a first even harmonic mixer which mixes the first modulation signal with the first distribution signal; a second even harmonic mixer which mixes the second modulation signal with the second distribution signal; and a 90 degrees phase synthesizer which synthesizes an output signal of the first even harmonic mixer and an output signal of the second even harmonic mixer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
