The invention relates to a self-pumping suspension strut having internal level control, for example for motor vehicles, comprising a fluid-filled work cylinder (19) pressurized by the fluid acting as a spring. A hollow piston rod (1) is guided in sealed manner in the work chamber (3, 31) of the work cylinder. A pump piston (4, 6), which is fixed to the work cylinder (19), projects in sealed manner into the piston rod and during relative movements between the work cylinder (19) and the piston rod (1) delivers fluid from the work chamber (3, 31) into a pressure chamber (13) that is pressurised to a higher fluid pressure than the work chamber (3, 31). The suspension strut further has flow connections (5, 17, 18, 32) between the pressure chamber (13) and the work chamber (3, 31) for selectively setting a predeterminable, dynamic level determined by the extension stroke of the piston rod (1), wherein the piston rod (1) can be rotated by means of a rotating device (33) for the selective cooperation of the axially and circumferentially spaced flow connections (5, 17, 18, 32). |
