<p>In the disclosed light-emitting element (10), an anode layer (12), a dielectric layer (13), and a cathode layer (14) are layered sequentially on a surface of a substrate (11). Said light-emitting element is provided with: a plurality of penetration sections (16) that go from the anode layer (12) to the cathode layer (14), going through at least the dielectric layer (13); and light-emitting parts (17) that cover the inside surfaces of the penetration sections (16), at least between the electrodes. The perimeter of the shape of each penetration section (16) at the surface of the anode layer (12) is longer than the circumference of the smallest circle that encloses said shape, and the maximum width of said shapes is between 0.01 and 5 µm. This cavity shape makes effective use of the light-emitting surface area, discourages charge collection in the light-emitting parts, and exhibits high light extraction efficiency to the outside. Using said cavity shape allows the provision of a high-brightness, high-luminous-efficiency light-emitting element and the like.</p> |
