<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source having a long lifetime by suppressing increase of temperature in a temperature increasing area containing an irradiation area in a light emitting portion to which excitation light is applied, and an area in the neighborhood of the irradiation area. <P>SOLUTION: A head lamp 1 includes a light emitting unit 7 which has an irradiation face containing an irradiation area to be irradiated with excitation light and emits light when the irradiation area is irradiated with the excitation light, and a linear heat-radiating support member 13 having a higher thermal conductivity than the light emitting unit 7. The heat-radiating support member 13 has two ends, and one end at the light-emission side is embedded in the light emitting unit 7 so that the one end is disposed behind the irradiation area of the light emitting unit 7 to be irradiated with the excitation light when the irradiation face of the light emitting unit 7 is viewed from the incidence side of the excitation light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
