<p>The portion of an airbag (18) which is separated a predetermined distance (L) from an end cap (24) of the airbag (18) toward the longitudinal center of the airbag and a mounting surface (16d) which is located further toward the outer side longitudinally of the airbag (18) than the end cap (24) of the airbag (18) are connected through a stay (25). As a result of the configuration, when the airbag (18) is inflated, the end cap (24) is prevented from being pressed against the mounting surface (16d) and making a portion of the airbag (18) difficult to inflate, the portion of the airbag (18) being a portion located near the end cap (24). This allows the airbag (18) to inflate uniformly along the entire length thereof and prevents the longitudinal center of the airbag (18) from bending and separating from the mounting surface (16d) of a front pillar (15). By this, the inner portion in the bending direction is prevented from buckling, and as a result, the expanded shape of the airbag (18) is stabilized to increase the impact absorption performance.</p> |
