<p>The invention relates to an overload protection device employed in mechanized or robotized welding for stopping the process, in case of accidental collision between the welding head and adjacent objects. According to the invention, the device comprises a ball joint consisting of some rings (1 and 2), namely an inner ring and an outer ring, respectively, allowing the angular rotation of the welding head and its axial motion, respectively, under the action of some external forces whose value exceeds a regulated value given by the elastic characteristics of a machined spring whose axial rotation is prevented by a cylindrical pin (7), an assembly consisting of a micro switch (9) and a drive cam (10), mounted and positioned reciprocally in the symmetry axis of an elastic element (3), each being fixed on the two faces thereof by a fixing nut (11), ensuring the stopping of the welding process due to the rotation or displacement of the internal ring (1) with a certain regulated value, the device also comprising an external cylindrical body (4) meant to fasten the ball joint and the elastic element (3) by a fastening ring (5), so as to ensure, by means of an adjusting ring (6), the required pre-clamping, and a flange (8) attached to the ball joint, which is provided with a centering hole and some recesses for the screws fixing the welding head.</p> |
