PURPOSE: A system and a method for an encoding database are provided to maximize the operation efficiency of a database system by performing a encoding of the database while not changing the length of an encoding column. CONSTITUTION: A client server(100) receives raw data from a user terminal and transmits encoding request about the raw data and the raw data to the security policy server. A security policy server(300) generates encoding result information by receiving encoding column/range information and index length information from a security manager. The security policy server generates and stores the management information about the encoding result information by transmitting the encoding result information to a client server. A DBMS(Database Management Server)(500) stores the encoding result information according to the control of the client server.
