<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a physical random number generation device and a physical random number generation circuit which are able to extract true random numbers using a new method. <P>SOLUTION: A physical random number generation device includes: A/D conversion means to sample a signal generated by a noise source, whose output level randomly varies, at a specific frequency and convert it to a digital value; digital value storage means to store the digital value sampled by the A/D conversion means for a specific period; calculation means to calculate the difference between the digital value stored in the digital value storage means and a digital value sampled afterward; output means to output the result of the calculation provided by the calculation means as a random number value. When sampling a signal generated by the noise source in a certain timing, a previously obtained value is subtracted from the obtained value and the result of the subtraction is outputted as a random value so that true random numbers can be obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
