A method, device and system for forward error correction (FEC) are provided in the present invention, which belong to the field of communications. The method includes: constructing low-density parity check (LDPC) code which has a trap set (a, b) according to the system requirement, and constructing algebraic code whose error correction capability is t according to the characteristics of the trap set (a, b) and the frame structure of the data to be encoded (101); concatenating the algebraic code, which is taken as outer-code, and the LDPC code, which is taken as inner-code, to obtain concatenated code, and encoding the data to be encoded according to the encoder of the concatenated code (102). The present invention constructs LDPC code which has a typical trap set according to the system requirement, and constructs the corresponding algebraic code according to the characteristics of the trap set and the frame structure of the data to be encoded, therefore matching performance between the LDPC code and the algebraic code to make the obtained concatenated code have more pertinence, furthermore effectively restraining or eliminating error-floor to make the code error rate corrected after FEC satisfy the system requirement of low code error rate.
