<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology which controls the whole power consumption, keeping the convenience of operation of each device in a network system containing multiple devices as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: The target power consumption amount and the period of time to perform power saving control are set, and the target power consumption amount of each device is calculated based on the target power consumption amount and set in each device. Within that period of time, when a request for redistribution of the power amount is received from a first device whose power consumption amount reaches the power saving transition amount which corresponds to the target power consumption amount of the device, a predicted power consumption amount at the end of the period of time is calculated from the power consumption amount of the devices other than the first device and the rest of the period of time until the end, a second device is selected which does not reach the power saving transition amount of each corresponding device until the end of the period of time based on the power saving transition amount and the power consumption amount of each device, and the power saving transition amounts of the first and second devices are updated by determining the power consumption which can be distributed to the first device from the second device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
