<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording control method for improving recording quality by recording data with optimum recording power, and an optical disk device for implementing the method. <P>SOLUTION: With test writing on a test write area by an optical pickup, a control unit calculates a theoretical value 20 of the recording power. The control unit calculates a measured value 21 of the recording power by correcting the theoretical value 20 of the recording power based on a β value calculated by a β detection circuit during recording or an asymmetry value. The optical pickup records data on the optical disk with the measured value 21 of the recording power while separating the optical disk in a plurality of areas in a radial direction. The control unit corrects the recording power by using the theoretical value 20 of the recording power and the measured value 21 of the recording power immediately before the recording, when the area of the optical disk to be recorded changes or the rotation speed of the disk is required to be lowered. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
