<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell having a high generation efficiency by efficiently utilizing heat energy of radiant heat and high-temperature exhaust gas from a fuel cell stack. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel cell (1) comprises: a fuel cell stack (3) formed by layering a plurality of power generation cells (11) which generate electricity by reacting fuel (F) and air (A); a reformer (5) generating a reformed fuel (RF) by steam-reforming the fuel (F) introduced from outside and supplying it to the fuel cell stack (3); and a combustor (9) burning exhaust air (EA) and at least a part of exhaust fuel (EF) from the fuel cell stack (3) and supplying the generated heat to the reformer (5).
