<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform updating to the latest map data without affecting operation speed of a navigation function, and by minimizing the length of time during which the navigation function is unavailable. <P>SOLUTION: A map data processing apparatus includes a map data storage means 101, an updated data inputting means 102 for receiving updated data for updating map data from a card-shaped data storage medium, an updated data recording means 3201 for recording the updated data, and a dynamic updating means 104 for performing map updating of the map data corresponding to the updated data, after recording the updated data on the updated data recording means 3201. The updated data inputting means 102 can reproduce data different from the updated data, and can use the card-shaped medium to reproduce another data that is used for purposes other than inputting the updated data into the map data by updated data inputting means 102, while the navigation function is working but not at the time when the updated data is recorded. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
