The invention relates to live audio and subtitle synchronisation which determines an individual subtitle delay ?ti for each subtitle i and creates a subtitle unit Si with the subtitle (i) and the individual subtitle delay (?ti). Each subtitle unit Si is introduced into one or more subtitle packets PES with a presentation time stamp PTSi and an associated configurable movement delay REST. Said packets form part of an extended transport flux that includes audio packets containing at least one audio fragment j and a presentation time stamp PTSj. The subtitle packets are synchronised with audio packets, creating a synchronised transport flux comprising all of the packets of the extended transport flux, delayed by a time dependant on an associated configurable movement delay REST.
