An antenna device and a portable wireless terminal equipped with the same having a configuration wherein two symmetrical antenna elements that operate within the same broad frequency band are positioned in a portable wireless terminal, and it is possible to achieve low coupling and high gain properties by reducing the amperage that is cancelled out by the two antenna elements. A first connection circuit (114) adjusts the mutual coupling impedance between a first antenna element (150) and a second antenna element (151) between a first frequency band and a second frequency band in a manner such that the impedance cancels out, reducing coupling deterioration between the antenna elements. Through this configuration, it is possible to achieve low coupling and high gain antennae operating at the same broad frequency band in a portable wireless terminal.
