A method, device and mobile phone for reducing power consumption of the mobile phone are provided by the embodiment of the present invention, in which the method includes: when outbound calling or inbound call ringing, the proximity sensor of the mobile phone is activated(101); the weight acceleration of the mobile phone is obtained through an acceleration sensor(102); the opening time of said proximity sensor is determined based on said weight acceleration of said mobile phone(103); when said opening time arrives, said proximity sensor is opened to open or close the backlight of the mobile phone according to the detection result of said proximity sensor(104). By the embodiment, during the calling process, the opening time of the proximity sensor can be obtained according to the weight acceleration of the mobile phone, and the proximity sensor is opened according to the opening time to detect whether the mobile phone is approaching the human face or leaving the human face; thus, the appropriate opening time can be obtained based on the different weight acceleration of the mobile phone, and the power consumption during the calling process of the mobile phone can be reduced. |
