PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a carbon nanotube-metal nanoparticle composite material, and especially, provide an advantageous method of manufacturing a carbon nanotube-metal nanoparticle composite material whose structure is controlled to a high order.

SOLUTION: This method of manufacturing the carbon nanotube-metal nanoparticle composite material includes a first process of forming a self-organized structure of an organic molecule on the surface of the carbon nanotube, a second process of bonding a metal ion to a terminal end of the organic molecule, and a third process of generating a metal nanoparticle by reducing the metal ion.
