<p>A lacquer capable of functioning as an adhesive and corrosion-protective lacquer for rare earth permanent magnets comprises (1) epoxy resin mixture comprising 1-94 wt. % solid epoxy resin(s) with an epoxide number of up to 2 Eq/kg, 1-50 wt.% multifunctional solid epoxy resin(s) with an epoxide number of >4 Eq/kg, and a setting agent comprising 5-40 wt.% phenol and/or cresol novolac with a melting point >30°C, (2) setting accelerator, (3) silane-based epoxy functional adhesion promoter, and (4) at least one solvent, wherein 5-20 wt.% of the epoxy resin mixture includes a viscous epoxy resin based on bisphenol A with an elastomer content of >30 wt.% and having a viscosity >5000 mPa.s at 23°C. Preferably, the elastomer content includes nitrile butadiene rubber. A method of manufacturing a magnet system using the lacquer and use of the lacquer for manufacturing a magnet system with an insulating layer are also disclosed.</p> |
