<p>A safety guard10for use with a wide angle joint on an agricultural power takeoff (PTO) shaft comprises a guard housing that extends around the joint when the guard is fitted. The guard housing comprises a first housing part12hingedly connected to a second housing part14to allow the first and second housing parts to open and close about a hinge19, a locking member50,54to lock the first housing part to the second and operable to be unlocked to allow the first and the second housing parts to be moved away from each other about the hinge. Each housing part includes a lip44,46on one end thereof, the lip having a profile to match a profile of an end bellows38to which the guard is attached. The safety guard may further comprise one or more internal members28,30,32,34to engage with a groove25provided in an outer surface of a guard support bearing24.</p> |
