Method and device for planning and configuring assemblies for producing printed products

The method involves assembling two machines e.g. feeders (2), in a manufacturing line (1) or to a part of the manufacturing line. Data modules (27) associated to the assembled machines are selected. Visual displays of the assembled machines are produced based on graphical data of the selected data modules in different operating conditions of the machines. The visual displays are automatically performed under consideration of interface data so that the assembled machines are combined with each other at coupling areas. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for planning and configuring a system for producing printed products (2) a system for producing printed products.
