<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device in which voltage drop can be suppressed without needlessly increasing the film thickness of wires on a support substrate. <P>SOLUTION: A light emitting device has a support substrate 11, plural organic EL elements 15 each of which is constructed by laminating a first electrode 16, an organic EL layer 17 and a second electrode 18 in this order on the support substrate, a counter substrate 31 disposed so as to face the support substrate, a projecting portion 34 projecting from the support substrate to the counter substrate, and a connection electrode 35 which is formed to extend from the second electrode onto the projecting portion 34.
