<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an additive for lubricants, which is useful for improving BN retention, corrosion performance, bulk oxidation, high temperature deposit control, black sludge control, thermal stability, and other properties of a lubricant. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention relates to the additive for lubricants, comprising (a) less than 40% hydrocarbyl phenol, (b) 10% to 50% alkaline earth metal hydrocarbyl phenate, (c) 15% to 60% alkaline earth metal single-aromatic-ring hydrocarbyl salicylate, and (d) 0% to 50% organic diluent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
