<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a photographer to confirm a whole composition and an enlarged image in an appropriate timing before taking a picture. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus, during a live view shooting mode for displaying an object image at real time, makes an image display section display an enlarged image by an operation of an enlargement command button (S007). After performing a focus control on a focus area by operating an AF command button in this state, when a photographer operates an enlargement release command button (S011), a standard magnification image is displayed (S013), thereby enabling the photographer to take a picture after confirming its composition.
