<p>Disclosed is a control device that is for an internal combustion engine and that can suppress flameout even if the driving state shifts from an accelerating state to a steady or decelerating state. The control device is provided with: a first EGR pathway that introduces exhaust gas flowing in an exhaust pathway (14) through an EGR cooler (44) and into an intake pathway (12); and a second EGR pathway that introduces exhaust gas flowing in the exhaust pathway (14) into the intake pathway (12) bypassing the EGR cooler (44). The control device is also provided with an EGR pathway switch valve (50) that can switch the duct through which the exhaust gas cycles between the aforementioned first EGR pathway and the aforementioned second EGR pathway. When the duct through which the exhaust gas cycles is switched to the aforementioned second EGR pathway, the intake-valve closing time is advanced (130) towards bottom dead center.</p> |
