<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device that can prevent the lowering of the rim intensity of a laser spot generated in a signal recording layer of an optical disk by the light collection operation of an objective lens. <P>SOLUTION: A reflection preventing film 11 for adjusting the intensity of a laser beam passing through an objective lens is provided on the surface of the objective lens 10. When a transmittance between a first numerical aperture (B) (provided that (B) is a positive number smaller than (A)) and the maximum numerical aperture (A) of the objective lens 10 is assumed to be 100% by the reflection preventing film 11, a transmittance in a numerical aperture of a second numerical aperture (C) (provided that (C) is a positive number smaller than (B)) is set to be R% (provided that (R) is a positive number smaller than 100) or less.
