<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high reaction type fluid fan coupling device such that use is made of the non-Newtonian fluid characteristics of oil, resulting in excellent reaction speed of fan rotation based on control signals. <P>SOLUTION: This fan coupling device is configured in such a way that a sealed housing is supported by a rotation shaft to which a drive disk is fixed, that the interior of the sealed housing is divided by a partition plate into an oil sump chamber and a torque transmission chamber which houses the drive disk, that drive torque is transmitted to the driven side by means of oil supplied to the interior of the torque transmission chamber, and that the opening and closing of an oil circulation path are controlled by a valve member which is operated by an electromagnet. The fan coupling device is characterized in that a mechanism which scoops out oil from the interior of the oil sump chamber by using the non-Newtonian fluid characteristics of oil is provided on the drive disk in such a way as to face an oil supply adjustment hole in the partition plate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
