<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an optical transmitter module that can protect a planar light emitting element from ESD by using neither special circuit nor special member. <P>SOLUTION: In a method of manufacturing an optical transmitter module, when a cathode-side bump 5 and an anode-side bump 6 provided on the bottom surface of a planar light emitting element 4 are correspondingly connected to a cathode electrode 2 and an anode electrode 3 formed on the surface of an insulating substrate 1, the planar light emitting element 4 is arranged and mounted on the insulating substrate 1 while the surface of the insulating substrate 1 and the bottom surface of the planar light emitting element 4 are arranged to face each other in parallel. The length of one of the cathode-side bump 5 and the anode-side bump 6 is set to be longer than the length of the other bump, and the longer bump is brought into contact with the corresponding electrode prior to the other bump. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
