A camera shake correction unit is provided with a fixing member; a movable member for supporting a correction lens; a supporting means for supporting the movable member so as to be movable within a plane that is perpendicular to the optical axis; and a movable magnet type voice coil motor configured by an air core coil which is provided on the fixing member via the wiring substrate, and a magnetic circuit of the movable substrate which is provided at the position corresponding to the air core coil; wherein the supporting means comprises a plurality of permanent magnets which are provided on the fixing member and the movable member respectively so as to effect a magnetic attractive force between the movable member and the fixed member; a plurality of rolling elements comprising ferromagnetic elements which are held between the plurality of permanent magnets provided on the movable member and the plurality of permanent magnets provided on the fixing member; and a housing unit which houses a portion of the rolling elements.
