WEAR DETECTION METHOD OF CONTACTOR OF GAS CIRCUIT BREAKER AND WEAR DETECTOR OF CONTACTOR OF GAS CIRCUIT BREAKER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect wear at the tip of a contactor by reliably detecting transient change in conduction state from a state where the tip of a contactor touches the tip of other contactor slightly to a state where the contact area of the contactors increases gradually.

SOLUTION: A gas circuit breaker 1 is provided with a manual operation lever 30 as a power transmission means for moving an operation rod 25 at a relatively low speed, and the operation rod 25 is provided with a stroke information providing means 29 for providing the information of the stroke of the operation rod 25. While moving the operation rod 25 at a low speed, the value of contact resistance between a fixed arc contactor 12 and a movable arc contactor 19 is measured by a measuring apparatus 31 in relation to the stroke of the operation rod 25 obtained from the stroke information providing means 29.
