METHOD FOR DUAL-MODE TERMINAL SELECTING NETWORK AND DUAL-MODE TERMINAL

A method for dual-mode terminal selecting network and a dual-mode terminal are provided, which are used to solve the problem in the prior art that a user of a dual-mode terminal has a bad experience on the 3rd Generation (3G) network. The method includes: when a dual-mode terminal being turned on, searching 3G cells and determining whether there is a 3G cell satisfying the resident requirements; when there being a 3G cell satisfying the resident requirements, residing in the 3G cell satisfying the resident requirements; otherwise, searching the 2nd Generation (2G) cells and determining whether there is a 2G cell satisfying the resident requirements; and when there is a 2G cell satisfying the resident requirements, residing in the 2G cell satisfying the resident requirements. The 3G cells are searched firstly after the dual-mode terminal of the present invention is turned on, and when none of the 3G cells satisfies the resident requirements, 2G cells will be searched, thus improving the experience of the users of dual-mode terminals on 3G network as well as the utilization ratio of 3G network resources.
