Printable self-adhesive film comprises a complex comprising: a film for printable decorative support; and an adhesive layer applied on rear face of the printable film, where the complex is manually stretchable at room temperature to be applied on three-dimensional surface with elongation properties comprising: the tensile strength of the complex to obtain an elongation of 20%, of = 1500 N/m; its rupture elongation of greater than 80%; and tensile force of greater than 200 N/m, and the decoration support film is constituted of a polymer e.g. polymers of plasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Printable self-adhesive film comprises a complex comprising: a film for printable decorative support; and an adhesive layer applied on the rear face of the printable film, where the complex is manually stretchable at room temperature to be applied on three-dimensional surface with elongation properties comprising: the tensile strength of the complex to obtain an elongation of 20%, of = 1500 N/m, and its rupture elongation of greater than 80%, and tensile force of greater than 200 N/m, the complex has an adhesion force on a glass surface of greater than 800 N/m, the decoration support film has a thickness of = 20 mu m, the adhesive layer has a dry thickness of less than 25 mu m, and the decoration support film is constituted of a polymer comprising polymers of plasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyacrylic, and polyurethane type. An independent claim is included for a process of applying a self adhesive film comprising: applying a masking film of the same size in length and width and of same thickness as the self-adhesive film, on an outer surface of an object of flat or three dimensional form, preferably rail transit car; applying a coat of paint of the same thickness as the masking film around the film of masking on the surface of the object, preferably on the masking film; after drying of the paint, removing the masking film and applying the self adhesive film thus obtained in the location initially occupied by the masking film; and applying a coat of varnish preferably having anti graffiti property on the self-adhesive film and on the paint around the self adhesive film.
