The toaster (1) has a frame (2) mounted on a support (8) and delimiting a vertical heating chamber (3), where an upper part of the chamber comprises an introduction opening (4) delimited by two longitudinal edges (5, 6). An extraction unit (15) comprises a movable bread rack (16) formed inside the heating chamber. The extraction unit induces tilting of a bread section (T) that is placed in and outside the heating chamber during movement of the rack from a low position to a rest top position.
