<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wound type electrochemical device restrained in characteristics fluctuations and a manufacturing method for the same. <P>SOLUTION: An electrochemical device comprises auxiliary metal parts T1 and T2 provided solidly around the axes of winding at one end along the axes of winding of an anode electrode A and a cathode electrode K and a separator S1 interposed between the anode electrode A and the cathode electrode K. A partial area other than the auxiliary metal parts T1 and T2 is removed by etching or cutting to make it a thinned area TNR.
