<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make inconspicuous the density unevenness of an image formed on a medium when seen by human eyes. <P>SOLUTION: In the fluid ejection device 1, a preceding nozzle row in which nozzles are arrayed in an order from a first to m-th at an overlapping part of a preceding head 320 and a following head 330 ejects fluid by an apportionment ratio A, and a following nozzle row in which first to m-th nozzles located at downstream sides of the first to m-th nozzles of the preceding nozzle row are sequentially arrayed ejects fluid by an apportionment ratio B. A change rate of A at the nozzles located at both ends of the preceding nozzle row and following nozzle row is made larger than a change rate of A at nozzles located in the middle while A is sequentially lowered from the first to m-th nozzles.
