The fuel supply system (12) has a fuel conveying arrangement (20) with a pump element (26) that is moved for conveying fuel and a pump element drive. The pump element drive has electromagnet arrangement (32) with a coil (34) for the movement of the pump element. A fuel preheating device (36) has a coil of the electromagnet arrangement for preheating of fuel (B) dispensed from the fuel conveying arrangement. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a fuel supply system.
