<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical orientation composition which has liquid crystal orientation capable of controlling orientation with a small amount of UV irradiation and a large pre-tilt angle and is excellent in light stability, and to provide a vertical orientation layer using the composition. <P>SOLUTION: The composition is provided with a composition for a vertical alignment layer of a liquid crystal that comprises (a) a polymerizable compound having a site which can be photochemically isomerized and is not photochemically cross-linked, (b) a polymerizable compound having a site which can be photochemically cross-linked and (c) a polymerizable compound having a site which stabilizes the vertical orientation, and a vertical orientation layer for a liquid crystal containing a cured product of the composition as a constitutional element. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
