<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system in which an interlink for connecting networks or a link for connecting a network to a terminal has high reliability, and a node applied for such a communication system. <P>SOLUTION: A frame generation section retrieves an address corresponding to a terminal frame destination, which is received from a terminal, from a database. When the retrieved address is a virtual address, a first node, which is capable of communication with another network, is selected as a selection object from a plurality of first nodes on the network of the own node. Any one of the physical addresses of the first node selected as the selection object is determined as a network frame destination.
