<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electric lamp with a lantern attachment capable of being used as a lantern even in a way in which it is placed on a table, a floor or on the ground, and making light reach the surroundings. <P>SOLUTION: The lantern attachment 10 is attached in free detachment to a light-emitting head 3 of the portable electric lamp 1. The lantern attachment 10 is provided with a skirt part 13 made of a light-transmitting material, at one end of which 13, a coupling part 11 to the portable electric lamp 1 is formed, and at the other end of which 13, the lantern attachment 10 itself and a bottom-face part 12 for erecting the portable electric lamp 1 on a plane are formed. A side of the bottom-face part 12 facing a lamp 5 of the portable electric lamp 1 is to be a reflecting mirror 17a converting irradiation light from the lamp 5 to irradiation light headed from the skirt part 13 toward the surroundings.
