<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve deterioration of smoke performance in a high-speed high-load region, in an engine combustion chamber structure wherein a projection (first projection) is set up within a cavity to control the amount and flowing direction of fuel to be injected, aiming at promotion of oxidation using air in a squish area. <P>SOLUTION: The engine combustion chamber structure includes: the cavity 2 which is recessed at a top of a piston 1 and to which fuel is injected from an injector 3 arranged above the piston 1; the first projection 5 arranged on the wall face of the cavity 2 in a position of a part with which the fuel injected from the injector 3 is made to collide and protruded toward the radial inner side of the cavity 2; and a second projection 10 provided on the wall face of the cavity 2 in a position of an opening of the cavity 2 and protruded toward the radial inner side of the cavity 2. When a minimum diameter of the first projection 5 is represented by d1 and a minimum diameter of the second projection 10 by d2, a relationship of d2>d1 is satisfied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
