PURPOSE: An apparatus for reducing the watching tiredness of a 3D video and method thereof are provided to effectively reduce the tiredness of a user in a 3D video by recreating the optimized 3D video. CONSTITUTION: A viewing distance estimation unit(410) estimates the user viewing distance from a screen to a user. A 3D video analysis unit(420) calculates 3D video distances using expression difference between the estimated viewing distance and the viewing distance of the user. A 3D watching tiredness prediction unit(430) predicts the 3D watching tiredness of the user using the calculated 3D video distance and the estimated viewing distance of the user. A 3D video control unit(440) controls the 3D video using the predicted 3D watching tiredness.
