<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce rubbing between cleavage faces of adjacent glass films of divided glass films as thoroughly as possible when continuously cleaving a glass film by thermal stress and dividing the glass film in a width direction while sending the glass film. <P>SOLUTION: The glass film G is continuously cleaved along a cleavage scheduled line 7 by the thermal stress generated according to local heating along the cleavage scheduled line 7 extending in a sending direction and cooling of a heated area thereof while sending the glass film G, and the cleaved glass films G are mutually separated. In a cleavage process, the glass film G is cleaved such that the cleavage faces 8 are inclined to predetermined directions. In a separation process, a track of one of the adjacent glass films G is separated to one of the front side and the rear side relatively to a track of the other of the adjacent glass films G such that interface between the cleavage faces 8 of the adjacent glass films G after the cleavage accompanying the inclination does not occur. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
