<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction body where necessary driven torque is transmitted without enlarging the suction body and tooth skipping or noise increase hardly occurs, and to provide a vacuum cleaner using the suction body. <P>SOLUTION: In the vacuum cleaner and the suction body, inside the suction body 106, a rotating brush 302 and a brush driving electric motor 501 for driving the rotating brush are included, a large diameter pulley 604 is provided on the rotating brush side and a small diameter pulley 602 is provided on the brush driving electric motor side as means for transmitting driving force to the rotating brush from the brush driving electric motor, and a belt 605 with teeth joints both the pulleys.
