<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat ring for a butterfly valve, capable of providing the sufficient seal function, without hindering opening-closing operation. <P>SOLUTION: A seat ring body 18 is formed of a soft rubber-like elastic body. An auxiliary ring 19 is formed of a raw material harder than the seat ring body 18. The two auxiliary rings 19 are mutually arranged at an interval. The auxiliary rings 19 are reinforced by being integrally arranged with the seat ring body 18. A seat ring 17 is installed in a peripheral edge part of a valve plate 5 of the butterfly valve. When closing the valve, the front side auxiliary ring 19 receives frictional force, and an interval between the two auxiliary rings 19 narrows.
