<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for an FPC or an FFC with improved convenience for insertion of the FPC or the FFC. <P>SOLUTION: An FPC connector 1 includes a housing 5 having an insertion space 4 into which a connection terminal 3 of an FPC 2 is inserted. Further, the FPC connector 1 includes in the housing 5 a plurality of contacts 6 arranged in a direction perpendicular to a direction D in which the connection terminal 3 of the FPC 2 is inserted. The FPC connector 1 is mounted on a substrate 7 in use.
