<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage type electric water heater capable of saving on electricity and preventing running-out of sealing water in an open-type sealing water section disposed on a drain pipe. <P>SOLUTION: In this storage type electric water heater including an expanded water drain pipe 8 capable of discharging the expanded water from a hot water storage tank of the electric water heater 1 to the open-type sealing water section 7a disposed on the drain pipe 6, power saving control is performed by switching OFF a heater in a hot water storage tank or lowering a heat-retention temperature in the hot water storage tank in summer or a time of low use frequency, hot water is boiled in the hot water storage tank to a given temperature every given time, even under the power saving control, and the expanded water is supplied from the hot water storage tank to the sealing water section 7a through the expanded water drain pipe 8 to prevent running-out of the sealing water in the sealing water section 7a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
