<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk having a smooth surface for producing powder which allows efficient production of impalpable powder for applications such as solder powder, precision metal powder injection molding (MIM) parts, powder for thermal spraying, and shot powder for micro processing. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a disk used for producing powder using centrifugal atomization for powdering a melted raw material and a mechanism of the centrifugal atomization, wherein the whole upper disk surface is smooth in both macro (macroscopic) and micro (microscopic) observations.
