<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knowledge base system capable of indicating meaning contents of objects and attributes without depending on languages. <P>SOLUTION: The knowledge base system 1000 is provided with a storage unit that has a knowledge base stored, and an operation unit 1070 that conducts logical operations to the knowledge base stored in the storage unit. The knowledge base comprises object identifiers that identify objects and at least one attribute that the object has and that corresponds to the object identifiers of the objects. The attribute comprises: an attribute identifier that identifies the attribute; and at least either one of at least one piece of characterization data that indicates the attribute and corresponds to the attribute identifier for identifying the attribute and identification data that correspond to a word indicating the attribute and corresponds to the attribute identifier. The object identifier is composed not of a word indicating the object but of a symbol that has no meaning itself.
