摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy of focus adjustment using phase difference detection method. <P>SOLUTION: In an image sensor 200, pixels are arranged based on a predetermined rule as focus detection pixels. The pixel includes a separation region for separating a pair of photodetectors. The pair of photodetectors having the same size and performance are arranged asymmetrically with respect to an optical axis of a microlens that condenses light. In the focus detection pixel, the pair of photodetectors are arranged so that the optical axis is located between the center of the separation region and an end on the separation region side of one of the pair of photodetectors.
