<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means for easily imaging an object, having been observed with an observation device, as a subject with an image pick-up device different from the observation device. <P>SOLUTION: An observation device of an imaging support system includes an observation optical system, a first position acquisition unit, a first direction acquisition unit, and a first communication unit. The first position acquisition unit acquires position coordinates of the observation device. The first direction acquisition unit acquires an direction of the optical axis of the observation optical system. The first communication unit transmits to an image pick-up device an observation position of the observation device based on the first position and the first direction. The image pick-up device of the imaging support system includes an image pick-up unit, a second communication unit, a second position acquisition unit, a second direction acquisition unit, a determination unit and a notification unit. The second communication unit acquires a position of the observation device from the observation device. The second position acquisition unit acquires position coordinates of the image pick-up device. The second direction acquisition unit acquires the direction of the optical axis of a photographic lens. The determination unit determines using the second position and the second direction whether an imaging range of the image pick-up unit overlaps with the observation position.
