<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiver allowing a user to instantly select a channel desired to view with desired resolution. <P>SOLUTION: The digital television set 100 (broadcast receiver) comprises a tuner 11 for receiving digital television broadcast waves containing information on resolution and a control unit 18 for performing control of switching a reception frequency based on the information on resolution. When a TV program that includes a predetermined content (program content) and is broadcasted by an SD system and a TV program that includes the above-described same content and is broadcasted by an HD system are included when a user selects a channel of the television program, the control unit 18 is configured to perform control of switching the reception frequency of the tuner 11 so as to preferentially receive the program to be broadcasted by the HD system based on the information on resolution. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
